Then our sons in their youth
will be like well-nurtured plants,
and our daughters will be like pillars
carved to adorn a palace.
Our barns will be filled
with every kind of provision.
Our sheep will increase by thousands,
by tens of thousands in our fields;
our oxen will draw heavy loads.
There will be no breaching of walls,
no going into captivity,
no cry of distress in our streets.
Blessed are the people of whom this is true;
blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.

"Tuning in" to our spirit can be a well of strength and inspiration for the rest of the week. Fasting is one way to do this.
Matthew 6:16-18 "When you fast...." Jesus expects us to fast.
Matthew 9:14 The time too fast is now.
It's not physically possible for everyone to fast, but there is no hard and fast method set out in the scriptures. One can fast from solid food, or from something entirely different, like a computer or television. Remember, fasting was only ever declared from God on one day a year from sunup to sunset--the Day of Atonement.
Luke 4:1-2, 14 When Jesus returns, something has happened; he was filled with the Spirit, now he is full of the power of the Spirit.
We are to look normal and do it in secret. It's normal the first time to just practice the physical mechanics of fasting. Then you diligently seek God. The Lord will reward us when we seek Him. Fasting turns our minds off and disables our bodies. This can nourish our faith. Do it until you get the promised reward.
Some of the greatest revelations and miracles come after a fast.
